Bristol Rovers player Derek Riordan's assault trial begins
THE trial of a Bristol Rovers player on an assault charge has started in a Scottish court.
Derek Riordan denies assaulting the head of security at an Edinburgh nightclub after allegedly arriving at the venue in disguise to dodge a ban stopping him from entering clubs in the city.

He is also accused of breaching the peace by shouting homophobic abuse.
After one day of evidence yesterday, the trial was adjourned until next month.
