Bristol Rovers' opponents Huddersfield Town not short on shooting practice
Huddersfield Town manager Lee Clark watched his side blast seven goals past Brighton in midweek – but believes they can get even better in front of goal.
Clark, pictured right, a former team-mate of Rovers coach Paul Trollope while the duo were at Fulham, has just recruited former Bristol City, Newcastle and Manchester United striker Andy Cole to work with his forwards twice a week.
One of the favourites for promotion at the start of the season following a summer spending spree which saw six new signings, Huddersfield have scored an amazing 15 goals in just four outings so far this term. "We played some sensational stuff and, as well as scoring seven times, we missed a penalty and hit a post," said Clark.
"We've got goals coming from a string of different players at the moment and the good thing is they can only get better. You never stop learning and with someone like Andrew Cole to teach you, the outlook must be good."
"Having someone like that around – the second highest scorer in Premier League history – will give everyone a lift and all our strikers can benefit from his knowledge."
Huddersfield also pose a threat from wide positions. Right-winger Anthony Pilkington gave Joe Jacobson a torrid night when the Terriers won 2-1 at the Memorial Stadium last season, and can interchange with Gary Roberts on the opposite flank. Rhodes' strike partner Lee Novak, who was playing non-league football with Gateshead last season, was among the scorers against the Seagulls, while Theo Robinson netted twice after coming off the bench and is pushing for a start.
Clark also has plenty of options in central midfield with Michael Collins and Jim Goodwin both available after suspension and injury respectively.
