Clevedon Town have signed Bristol Rovers reserve goalkeeper Mike Green on loan, and he goes straight into the side for tonight's derby match at home to Mangotsfield United.

The game is vital for both clubs in their battle to avoid relegation from the Southern League Premier Division.

Green has been out with a broken finger for over a month and Rovers coach Paul Trollope needs him to play games.

The youngster takes over from former Rovers goalkeeper Danny Greaves, who needed six stitches just below his knee after an injury sustained in Saturday's 1-0 home win over Rugby Town.

Clevedon are the in-form team with an undefeated run of five games, which has taken them off the bottom and into 19th place.

Boss Nick Tucker said: "We have three games in seven days starting tonight. Bringing in Mike Green will mean we don't have to push Danny Greaves into playing before he is fully fit."

Mangotsfield have lost their last three games and desperately need a victory themselves.

United boss Phil Bater, a former Clevedon manager, knows his young side faces a tough game.

Bater includes Bristol Rovers youngster Ben Swallow, who joined on a month's loan last week.

Yate Town are also in the relegation dogfight and they face a difficult home clash against Chippenham Town.

Manager Dave Mogg is hoping that regular goalkeeper Lee Matthews will be fit to return after missing the last two games, while there are doubts over defender Ed Vahid, who has a work appointment in London during the day.

Left-sided midfielder Aron Robbins faces a fitness test on a hamstring strain.

Mogg may have new defender Jason Price available and possibly Justin Pritchard.

"Games are running out, so we need to get something from tonight's game," said Mogg.

Chippenham manager Adie Mings finds himself with a long injury list after Saturday's game at Corby with Dave Pratt (back), Kye Holly (calf), Sam Allison (dead leg) and Ashley Williams (knee) all missing.

Ross Adams is also unavailable as he starts a two-match suspension after accumulating 10 bookings.
