Events taking place across Bristol are offering people advice on how to stop smoking and improve their lung health.

Bristol Rovers players are supporting the events and recently had a check-up of their own from a British Lung Foundation nurse.

The Bristol Support to Stop Smoking service will be holding events with the British Lung Foundation from today.

Today's event is being held at Asda in Whitchurch; tomorrow's event is at Boots in Broadmead; and the third event takes place at Asda in Bedminster next Wednesday, November 25.

Tomorrow at the South Bristol Sports Centre in Hengrove, the British Lung Foundation is holding a conference to help people with respiratory conditions manage their own health.

The event is one of series being held across the country as part of the British Lung Foundation's campaign for World Chronic Bronchitis and Emphysema Day.

Dianne Frances, British Lung Foundation support and development manager for the South West said: "This is a great way for people affected by lung disease to meet others with similar experiences."
