TO lose at home to a side like Dagenham and Redbridge is one thing, but the manner of the defeat was very disappointing.

My memory must be fading because once again I could not recall seeing the same game as Mark McGhee had been watching.

He said Rovers had had a go. I don't recall us putting the visitor's defence under too much pressure in the second half.

Their goalkeeper had one save to make from a Tom Eaves shot and another from a Fabian Broghammer header and that was about it.

McGhee said there was no lack of effort or commitment. He may be right in that respect, but if so why didn't we get at least a draw?

The manager did not say we were unlucky but perhaps it was down to a lack of skill and organisation?

"If we had got the first goal we would have won the game," said McGhee. An odd comment when you consider we scored first in four games last month and didn't win any of them.

How David Clarkson missed that sitter I'll never know. It ended our only period of pressure in the first half as, again, we conceded from a free-kick after being slow to react as they pushed the ball down the wing and scored from the cross.

Again Broghammer looked the man most likely to break down the opposition.

I was pleased to see him on the left and his brilliant early cross showed just what we have been missing. It is incredible to think how he had been shoved out on the right for so many games to accommodate Derek Riordan.

But the German could be so much better if he had a better supply. Playing Tom Parkes just behind him didn't work in my book, although of course McGhee thought it did.

Parkes had one chance of glory when he turned superbly on the edge of the box only to remember he was a defender and blazed it over the bar.

He should be in the back four. In Garry Kenneth, Guy Branston and Jim Paterson we have three defenders who are just stoppers with an alarming lack of pace between them and their distribution leaves a lot to be desired.

We have no one to put a foot on the ball and very few phases where we put a lot of passes together unless it was to go backwards.

McGhee said we needed to look further than the result. Well okay, how about the league table as we now sit in a position that could take us out of the Football League?

I am worried that he does not seem to be worried.

Things need to change in the transfer window as I no longer think this squad is good enough playing the way it is for us to stay up. Club officials must feel the same as they did not name a man-of-the-match.

“It's Higgs and the Board which need to go - The buck stops with them. They've been unable to make a decent appointment since Lenny Lawrence left - what on earth makes people think it'll be any different were MM to be sacked?”

“I agree totally with Dennis. MMseems to have been wathing a diferent matchn than the rest of hose at te ground! He continues to play players out of position - Parkes is a defender and in midfield was out of his depth. Broghammer is a left winger and should be the first name on the sheet every game. He's young and will make errors but he does have pace and skill n te ball. Oerall the team lacks pace and on saturday passion to win. Yesthere was effort but without any cler method there was no pattrn to our play. Daggers having scored had no need to do anything other than nullify our efforts. No cohesion, no pace and no method. We have a youth team that to date have lost 1 game all season. Alefe Santos gets 20 minutes and is praised by MM for his debut. Since then he's not had another chance. Hunter and Harrison do very well in YT and Development Squad but MM seems to have a downer on them. Wee us fans have a downer on him. Mr Higgs needs to get a new management team in before the January transfer window. Conference football looms. We are the worst team in Div 2 and that hurts. I've watched Rovers for almost 50 years and will carry on after MM is long gone but the sooner that happens the happier I'll be.”

“Nick Higgs must have a very thick skin and a distorted view of what a fan is if, for one he considers himself a fan, and secondly if he expects us the fans to put up with the crock of *** that is being continually and without change served up as a football club week in and week out, what an utter shambles and insult!”
