Bristol Rovers fan Dennis Payter: OK, we came crashing down to earth at Carrow Road but we are still third in the league - and just wait until we start fielding our strongest side.

Some may blame Paul Trollope picking up the manager of the month award for the hammering by the Canaries.

Trolls deserved the award again but I am still puzzled how he cannot find a place for Andy Williams in his starting line-up.

At Southampton Williams loomed up off the bench on to the touchline and out of the dockland mist like Batman with Robin (Phil Kite) stood alongside him.

We were beginning to wobble under the Saints onslaught before Williams with his cape flowing behind him mesmerised the home defenders time after time with his speedy runs into the penalty area. Just like in the Boy's Own comics the superhero did a step over, headed towards the box and smashed the ball into the top corner of the net in the last minute before heading into the night sky.

You may argue he is not the best player on the books, but he is as they say "on fire". What is it doing for his confidence if he is playing out of his skin and still cannot make the line-up?

I couldn't believe he was not on the starting sheet at Norwich. Trolls says he has been great coming on as an "impact" player. That may be the case but we need our best players on for 90 minutes.

I am sure if Gerrard or Torres came on as subs for Liverpool people would say what great impact players they were. But in vital games they start, even with big squads and a rotation system, they don't sit on the bench.

Nearly 60 minutes had gone on Saturday and we were 4-1 down before Williams appeared. By that time we needed more than an impact player.

Norwich hero Chris Martin came on as a sub last Tuesday and scored, thus was on the starting sheet against us.

However, Saturday's defeat was disappointing but not the end of the world, I would have taken three points out of the last two away games and our run on the road had to end at some time. We have had a great start to the season and I am sure there is still more to come.
