OK Lenny, you win, we have now seen the sexy football you have been promising since the start of the season.

For the first 45 minutes against Southend the quality of our football was breathtaking and the best I have seen from a team in blue and white quarters for years.

The in-cliche for a player on form these days seem to be "on fire" and frankly Ricky Lambert was, well, on fire.

His finishing is clinical, but not only that he leads the line well, lays the ball off superbly and doesn't waste a pass. The only thing he lacks is pace, and let's face it - if he was quick off the mark as well he would probably be playing in the Championship by now.

Other sides are bound to take notice of such a prolific goal scorer and the worry is that our Scouse hero could be tempted into a big money move north during the next transfer window we may be struggling to hang on to him.

But it was by no means a one-man show with Jo Koffour the unsung hero for me. I was delighted to see him in the starting line-up and what a handful he proved, brilliantly setting up Lambert's third goal and his gem of a chip to Craig Disley deserved to finish in the back of the Shrimpers' net.

So while "I told you so" Trolls about Koffour and wanted him in the side, I have to eat humble pasty about your formation which I have been slamming for weeks. I just cannot believe a Rovers side could play the brand of football we turned on in the opening half.

Craig Disley had another fine game as did our centre-backs Craig Hinton and Byron Anthony, but the player who is really revelling in this formation is Chris Lines who seems to be growing in confidence with every performance.

Lines is gradually winning me over and it could well mean that Trolls and Lenny know more about football than me, but my judgement could have been affected by following the Gas for 50 years.

I just hope Trolls, with four wins and a draw this month that you don't get the dreaded poisioned chalice manager of the month award which could ruin everything.

It was great to hear the Blackthorn End chanting for Trolls and Lenny to give them a wave and even Geoff Dunford got the call.

The Southend performance ended a great week following a convincing win over a strong Oldham side and news that we won't have to migrate to Cheltenham while the stadium is re-developed.

But back to that wonderful Saturday display and how last week I vowed it would take Pamela Anderson's sponsorship to get sexy football at The Mem. Was I star struck at the end or did I really see Pamela leaving the DAS enclosure?
