Bristol Rovers boss Mark McGhee wants 'quality' signings
BRISTOL Rovers boss Mark McGhee is happy to bide his time as he looks to strengthen his squad this summer.
McGhee, pictured, is aiming to build a squad that will challenge for promotion from League Two and says the emphasis is on quality, rather than quantity, of signings.

And, although the club failed with two bids to sign Oxford striker James Constable, McGhee is hopeful there will be several signings before the new season kicks-off in mid-August.
Asked about possible signings, McGhee said: "We are always getting closer, but we are not about to announce today that we have signed this player or that.

"The thing I remain determined about is the quality of the players we bring in and where they are going to take us.
"We are looking to improve the squad and give ourselves a competitive edge this year.
"We are determined to put together a squad that will give us a chance and that takes time.
"We hope to have some signings before pre-season, but we certainly won't have all the signings we want.
"Because we were unsuccessful in our bid to bring James Constable to the club, we are now looking at a couple of other targets and are hopeful of securing one of them."
