Sean Rigg would dearly love to write his own FA Cup fairytale before bidding farewell to Forest Green.

The on-loan Bristol Rovers forward plays his penultimate game for Dave Hockaday's side tonight at Mansfield Town, a first-round replay which offers a potentially huge prize.

Victory at Field Mill would secure a tie at Blue Square South outfit Bath City on November 28.

There are plenty of sizeable obstacles to overcome first – not least a Mansfield side who beat Rovers 1-0 in the league last month. But Rigg is hell-bent on adding to his tally of seven goals from 17 appearances before his loan spell expires this weekend.

"I'm very happy with how my spell has gone and hopefully I can finish it with a couple more goals," he said.

"I haven't scored one in the cup yet so it would be nice to do that at Mansfield.

"We should have won the first tie and we played well in the league against them but didn't get the rub of the green."

Rovers' hopes of pocketing the £18,000 prize money this evening will not be helped by the absence of the cup-tied Craig Rocastle, who set up Rigg's late equaliser at Altrincham on Saturday.

"Craig has come in and done brilliantly for us in central midfield, getting the ball moving and being a playmaker," said Rigg.

On the plus side, striker Tomi Ameobi is in line to start up front after shaking off an ankle injury.

As for Rigg, there is every chance he could return to the New Lawn when the transfer window re-opens in January.

"I'll go back to (Bristol) Rovers and see if I can get a few appearances on the bench," he said. " If it doesn't go as well as I want it to then I'll come back out on loan. I would be happy to come back. I've really enjoyed it here."
