ON-LOAN Bristol Rovers striker Lewis Haldane might not have been making the net bulge with any degree of regularity since his move to non-league Oxford United this season – but at least he has something to show for his efforts.

His first goal for the club, in the final minute of last month's 3-1 win over Cambridge United, was shown live on TV and won him the Setanta Goal of the Month Award, having polled 31 per cent of the votes.

Meanwhile, Bristol Rovers' youngsters will be hoping to avoid a repeat of the club's Bournemouth cup hoodoo when they head to the south coast in the FA Youth Cup on Saturday, November 8.

The Pirates' senior side have gone out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at the Cherries in each of the last two seasons – but Billy Clark's team will be aiming for better in the first round tie at the Fitness First Stadium.
