“"Why are political parties getting involved."
Two phrases that come readily to mind, 1)The lunatics are about to take over the asylum and/or 2) Set a thief to catch a thief.
I think it will be a terrible day for British policing when these P&CCs take office, trailing their political agendas behind them. Following the damning Hillsborough report and the Phone-hacking inquiry clearly something needs to be done, but if getting politicians involved is thought to be the answer I'm afraid the wrong question has been asked.”

“Why are political parties getting involved. This should be for an independent individual to stand not someone at the beck and call of the murky political system.”
