Julie Finch, head of Bristol Museums, Galleries and Archives, said: “This is very exciting news. Thanks to all the people who voted for Bristol Museum & Art Gallery to win this amazing opportunity to celebrate the Museums at Night event on May 16.

“Gavin Turk will bring his own unique style, creativity and interpretation to Museums at Night. His ideas and artistic flair will be enhanced by our own outstanding Egypt and Assyria collections and the fabulous Pharaoh: King of Egypt and Belzoni exhibition to create a really special ‘magic flying carpet’ experience for evening visitors.”
