Bristol Half Marathon 2012: Road closures and parking

More than 14,000 runners are to descend on the city on Sunday, as Bristol hosts its annual half marathon.

Whether you’re heading to watch the race or just need to plan an alternative route to work, find out all you need to know about road closures and car parks here:

    A number of roads will be closed from 3am on Sunday, but all roads should be reopened by 5pm

Road closures

On Sunday, a number of roads will be shut for the race. For health and safety reasons, vehicle access will not be possible during the period of the road closures.

Between 6am and 3pm:

- Bridge Valley Road

Between 5.30am and 2pm:

- Brunel Lock Road

- Ashmead Way

- Smeaton Road

- Junction Lock Bridge

Between 4.30am and 3pm:

- Wapping Road

- The Grove

The Hotline will also be open throughout the weekend of the race.

Car Parks

A number of multi-storey car parks will be open and accessible to the public on Sunday:

- Trenchard Street: Entrance from Lodge Street and Trenchard Street. Open 24hrs, staffed 8am - 11.30pm

- West End: Entrance from Jacob’s Wells Road and Triangle South. Open 24hrs

- St James Barton: Open 24hrs

- Rupert Street: Open 24hrs

- Galleries Bristol: Shopping open 11am - 5pm, car park open 10am - 6pm

- Cabot Circus: Shopping open 11am - 5pm, car park open 24hrs

- Nelson Street: Open 24hrs
