Pictures of Wallace and Gromit, Banksy graffiti and postcards from Bristol children adorn an aid truck that will set off to Gaza on Friday.

Campaigners in the city have been collecting supplies to send to the children in Palestine.

These include food, clothes and medical equipment.

More than 1,000 students at City Academy, Lawrence Hill, have written postcards to the children of Gaza.

Principal Dr Ray Priest said: "Our young people, of all faiths, have been enthusiastic about the Viva Palestina convoy right from the start. We all feel that no children anywhere should suffer like those in Gaza, Palestine."

The 44-tonne truck will form part of a convoy of more than 250 vehicles departing the UK for a 5,000-mile trip through seven borders.

It has been organised by the Bristol-Gaza-Link Association, a group formed earlier this year with all-party support. Members of campaign and faith groups are raising the funds for the trip..
