Bristol City manager Gary Johnson will learn the full extent of Marvin Elliott's injury on Thursday.

The midfielder limped out of Tuesday's 2-0 win at Plymouth Argyle after suffering a suspected torn groin muscle.

Johnson revealed: "Marvin is having a scan and I'll get the results the next day (today). Until then, we don't know how bad it is."

Nicky Maynard is also a doubt for Saturday's home game against Barnsley after sustaining a dead leg at Home Park. But Liam Fontaine will be fit to play despite having stitches inserted in a head wound in the same game.
