Steven Davies (second from left) trusts in head coach Sean O'Driscoll to come up with and effective game-plan ahead of Saturday's relegation showdown at Wolves.

And head coach Sean O’Driscoll has already begun the process of preparing his players for a fixture that is pregnant with significance for both sides.

Lifting the lid on the methods that have helped City garner 17 points from 11 games since O’Driscoll took charge in mid-January, Davies revealed the attention to detail that goes into devising a game-plan every week.

He told The Post: “We will go to Wolves with a game-plan and the gaffer will be putting the hours in and taking us through it step by step on the training ground.

“He is very organised and he tells you exactly what he wants, both as a team and as individuals.

“He will tell you what he thinks and what he wants you to do during a game and, to be fair to him, he has been spot on in every game since he has been here. Performances and results show that.

“He will take the forwards and show you specific clips of your own performances and those of the opposition. It is the same for the midfielders and for the defenders.

“We watch DVDs and then go out onto the training pitch and put what we have talked about into practice.

“That started on Monday when we watched a video of Wolves’ last game. The gaffer cuts out the bits he wants us to see and we will talk about those and then work on the specific things he wants us to do.”
