Bristol City striker Jon Stead could miss rest of season through injury

Injured during last weekend's 2-0 home win over Middlesbrough, the experienced striker underwent a hospital scan on Thursday.

Bristol City forward Jon Stead faces five to six weeks on the sidelines.
Unfortunately for the former Blackburn and Sunderland man, the results have shown up a muscle tear in his groin and he will be sidelined for between five and six weeks.
Robins head coach Sean O'Driscoll confirmed the news ahead of kick-off in today's crunch relegation battle against Wolves at Molineux.

But he remains optimistic that Stead can still play some part in City's season.
He said: "It will not be two or three weeks out like it was the last time Jon suffered an injury like this - it will be nearer five or six.
"But that is a worse-case scenario. We hope we could have Jon back for the last games of the season, but will have to see how it goes."
