BRISTOL City striker Brett Pitman has rejoined AFC Bournemouth on loan until January 3.

Jersey-born Pitman, 24, pictured, joined City from Bournemouth in August 2010, but has found first-team opportunities hard to come by this season.

City manager Derek McInnes said: "This is a good chance to go and get regular match action, which Brett hasn't enjoyed here at Bristol City recently.

"He'll relish the chance of a return to Bournemouth and I'm sure he'll do well for them. I wish him luck with the loan.

"If all goes well, it could lead to something further."

Pitman started City's Capital One Cup clash with Gillingham at the start of the season and has been restricted to just three substitute appearances since. In total, he has scored 20 goals in 81 outings for the club.

City's Under-21 Development League home match with Barnet was postponed last night due to a waterlogged pitch.

“OOC at the end of the season:Heaton, Gerken,Nyatanga,Skuse, Stead & Pitman

Add "non ever presents" Woolford, Morris & Kilkenny and you could have another massive clear out on our hands. The big question is will we still be in the NPC & will it be Del spending the money?”

“Pittman never got a decent chance at City yet he was a proven goal scorer. I am sure it will come back to bite us at some point. But I wish the bloke the best of luck.He deserves some regular football.”

“If Brett scores a hatfull of goals whilst ON LOAN, how could that do anything but increase his value to City? It's a win win move. He was a really important player to us last season and an impressive transfer value could prove crucial at a time when we desperately need new defensive and midfield options.
    Good luck Brett.”

“I meant to add that Bolasie has been very impressive since leaving.I hope that the Pitman move although surplus to requirements considering our options, doesn't come back to bite us in the butt at some stage.”

“Couldn't agree more re: the sentiments about Nyatanga,Woolford and Kilkenny.

And let's add 'Fontaine-The-Pantomine-Dame' to the list, too. A package deal! Does anyone know McGhee's phone number?”

“It's good Del is freeing money up, for further signings.

It's no good keeping players on the books, just to keep the numbers up, if they aren't Championship standard.

Hope to see, Nyatanga, Kilkenny, Morris, and Woolford, on their way, shortly.

There are a few jocks, who could be added to the list, but he won't get rid of them!”

“I understand Pitman was frustrating - but for me workrate is secondary and out and out strikers should be judged on goal ratios (13 in 21 starts in his first season). He had lost form and confidence a bit I think due to lack of love from D Mac! But we shouldn't forget his goals did help save us - Palace at home probably the pick.

Hopefully we won't be watching him bury a few against next year in Div 1....”

“One goal in four isn't a great return for a striker and he's not Del's type-That is, he doesn't battle or work hard and with our singularly uncreative midfield and wide players with an inability to cross, it's little wonder that strikers find it tough here and have done for many years.

As ever, it's not who goes but who arrives that I always focus one especially with only 19 first team players available for selection on Saturday, including loans.”
