Bristol City have signed QPR striker Patrick Agyemang on loan until the end of the season.

The 29-year-old has passed a medical at Ashton Gate this morning and the paperwork has been lodged with the Football League, meaning subject to approval, Patrick should go straight into City's squad for tomorrow night's Coca-Cola Championship clash with Cardiff City.

The big, powerful 6ft 1ins forward began his career at Wimbledon in 1998 and bagged 22 goals in 136 appearances. A transfer to Gillingham followed in 2004, where he impressed with eight goals in 33 matches.

The Walthamstow-born striker's form prompted Preston to splash out £350,000 less than a year later and he was a big fans favourite during his time with the Deepdale club.

In four seasons he scored 21 times in 135 outings, and then made the switch to QPR in 2008. In 61 appearances, Patrick netted 14 times for the R's.

Now the forward, who has three caps and one goal to his name at international level with Ghana, is hoping to end the season with a bang at Ashton Gate.

    “question for glenn

if yeovil are loaning Tottenham players, do you really think that they are players Tottenham want any more?

Tottenham are trying to offload these rubbish players to yeovil but yeovil wanted a loan first to see if they wanted them.

City need a quality loan signing like Welbeck, but as Man U want him back, they want him nearby to check on him etc.

You blatantly have no idea about football so why don't you go back to your local team, Backwell FC cos we Bristolians are happy with people outside our cty supporting our team, as long as their not clowns like yourself”

    “Question for Westonred:

So how do you account for Yeovil Town currently having three players on loan from Tottenham - and they are all doing very well I might add ?

The truth is one of two things.
Either Gary believes he has the talent to take unfancied players and make them Premier League stars (not seen much evidence of that working as yet, Bas Savage, Andy Smith); or Premier League managers are unwilling to loan players to us because they don't trust Gary Johnson and his methods.”

“JCR and Agyemang have always stood out as good players when playing against City . Lets get behind them before starting to slate them..
We will never get the top Premiership reserve players coming to down ro Bristol on Loan. The London clubs farm theirs out to teams like QPR, Palace, and Watford. The Northern teams Man Utd, Liverpool, Everton etc like to keep their youngsters closer to home Preston Leeds Blackpool etc so they can keep an eye on thier progress.”
