Bristol City set to sign Wolves striker Stefan Maierhofer
Bristol City set look set to sign Wolves striker Stefan Maierhofer.
Manager Gary Johnson has confirmed that Chris Iwelumo has returned to the Premier League club at the end of his loan deal.
Maierhofer, an Austria international, who has scored once in nine appearances for Wolves this season, is likely to put pen to paper in time for tomorrow night's game at Plymouth Argyle.

“Approximately five points are required from 27 left available. If we can't get those we deserve relegation but Steve Lansdown must be concerned about next season where a poor start would almost confirm relegation for a team that's been mainly unwatchable since the play off final defeat from Hull.
Whilst Gary Johnson has overacheived with these players, he has equally demonstrated that he can take the club no further.
Despite signing & selling in excess of 30 strikers we have been incapable of scoring more than 54 goals per season-almost one a game and our regression over the past two seasons have been staggering.”

“P49 W11 D20 L18 F52 A71 PTS53 GD-19
THAT'S OUR RECORD OVER THE LAST 49 LEAGUE GAMES.
THAT'S 36% OF POINTS OR 49 OVER A SEASON
48 POINTS HAS BEEN THE AVERAGE NUMBER FOR RELEGATION OVER THE PAST SEVEN YEARS
COLD HARD, UNARGUABLE FACTS”

“Another day, another Johnson contradiction.
.
What happened to....No more foreign players who no british expereince? So what does he do a sign some unknown austrian???
How about instead of signing his SIXTH forward this season he actually attempts to resolve our defensive problems?
Still....I suppose that would require a manager with some common sense and competence!!!”

“Lewis, we are talking 50 odd games worth of indifferent results and increasingly poor football, and falling attendances eroding our bank balance and increasing our losses even further. little or no chances being created on the pitch. the manager signing a new striker every fortnight but still unable to realise after three seasons in the championship that IT IS THE SUPPLY to his strikers which is the problem.
johnson is no ferguson, but i will give credit where it is due, he is a decent lower league manager.”

“Perhaps Johnson has signed him to play at the back?! Afterall he's been saying we need a big lad at the back and with Johnson's record of playing people out of position who knows!”

“@ Dolman Bob.
Football managers good work is aways forgotten after a few bad results. Im suprised some players want to go into management after ending their playing career. People dont give anyone a chance anymore. I remember a few years ago everyone was saying that Fergie was loosing his touch...then he goes and adds a few more titles, the champs league and another champs league final.”

“sorry david, is this what you want to hear:
ooh, thanks garry, this guy sounds absolutely brilliant. you must have been tracking him for ages. we are so lucky to have uncle pete on the case.
and thank you for a throughly entertaining and committed performance on saturday. what I really like is we took the game to reading. tactically we were spot on, carving them open time and again. once again i lost count of the amount of chances we created. it is good to see the players are putting in a shift for a manager they believe in, and the fans are united he is the right man to take us forward.
lets hope lansdown gives that man another five year contract.”
