Sheffield Wednesday should welcome back striker Francis Jeffers for tomorrow's game.

The former Everton man missed the second half of the Owls' 2-0 win against Southampton last week because he was injured by one of his own team-mates.

Luke Varney, who had already scored Wednesday's first goal, launched himself at a cross, missed the ball completely and kneed Jeffers in the back.

Jeffers' return is timely as Varney, who went on to score again against the Saints, has now returned to Derby County at the end of his month's loan.

Varney could be replaced by Leon Clarke, who has recovered from a hamstring problem.

Top scorer with 14 goals is Marcus Tudgay, who has been playing on the right of midfield. On-loan Wolves midfielder Darren Potter partners Sean McAllister in the centre, with Dutchman Etienne Esajas is on the left flank. Potter has had a minor back injury and will be replaced by James O'Connor if he is not fit.

Ex-Derby man Lee Grant is the regular keeper in front of a back four marshalled by club stalwart Richard Wood. Former Scunthorpe United defender Richard Hinds partners Wood at centre-back, with Lewis Buxton at right-back and Sammy Spurr on the left of defence.

Like Bristol City, the Owls' play-off dream is long since over with manager Brian Laws already keen to focus on next season.
