“Having left Bristol a few years ago, it's funny when you look at all things the Council have failed with over the years, like the airport at Filton and the Tram system, and the traffic within Bristol, then no doubt the new stadium which would help put Bristol in a positive light will be rejected. People in the rest of the country, see Bristolians as carrot crunching dimwits, who wear smocks!!. The Council, and those who seem to get involved with local politics, have a very blinkered outlook on life, don't want to move forward, don't want Bristol to compete with London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Leeds and Manchester. We will be regarded as a "backwater" of the West Country, the poor relation of England. We need to remember that we live in the 21st Century. Building in green belt protects wildlife. Yet go down to Hallen Marsh, i would hate to think what lies in the streams, as it isn't fresh water!!. Traffic??. Most City supporters live in Somerset, so would approach the new stadia from the south!!. Train Station could be built 50 metres from the stadia, with trains from Taunton & Weston able to stop there. I am proud to have been born and bred in Bristol, but am embarrassed by those who hold office in local government. It's about time that they put Bristol on the map for ALL the right reasons, instead of living in the past!!. :-(”
