Bristol City miss out on January target Scott Wootton
Bristol City have been gazumped by fellow Championship strugglers Peterborough United in the race to sign Manchester United youngster Scott Wootton.
Robins boss Derek McInnes asked United manager Sir Alex Ferguson if he could take the 21-year-old centre-back on loan earlier this week.

But the United supremo has instead decided to help out his son, Darren, by loaning Wootton to Posh.
Proving blood is thicker than water, Ferguson senior has dispatched Wootton and midfielder Davide Petrucci to London Road to boost Peterborough’s fight for Championship survival.

Wootton, who watched Posh Aston Villa out of the FA Youth Cup on Tuesday night, is a familiar face at Peterborough fans, having spent time on loan at London Road last season.
Meanwhile, City manager McInnes has switched his attention to other targets and is preparing a bid for Crawley Town centre-back Kyle McFadzean.

“Who does McInnes Senior manage?
Wonder if he's got any good players?
Vote Green for 'YES'
and Red for 'NO'”

“as much as i hate mcclueless.... there is nothing that could be done about this one.
Sir Alex is always gunna do his son a favour over city (as any father would) especially when there is a relegation at stake.
Danns the same, as someone who works away from their son, i'd give anything to have a job closer....”

“@welliedog2
@Red_Emerson
The minute Posh showed an interest in Wooton ours ended.
Danns wanted to play closer to home which I can understand.
Decent payer, not outstanding & I'm not that bothered as he was expensive & an attacking midfielder, as opposed to the creative player we need.
Our problems are primarily in defense (60%) and defensive midfield (20%).If we can address that then an attack that has outscored Hull, should be enough to see us to safety.”

“Danns wanted to be closer to his family - disapointing but fair enough
Wootton has been loaned (whether he liked it or not) to Sir Alex's SON, EP got it spot on, blood is thicker than water.
BCFC haven't done anything wrong!”

“Great, we lost Neil Dan's to the mighty Huddersfield and now have lost Scott Wooten the the footballing giants of Peterborough.
I think that Yeovil would have an easier time attracting players than BCFC at the moment.
Dark days...”
