“Lee Trundle is a player who was froze out for no good reason. He's scoring goals now for a team higher in the league.
Noble - A player who was playing well, but dropped in favour of lesser players and had offers turned down by the club from Crystal Palace, would have been still in the championship if he hadn't injured himself in Pre-Season while jogging.”

“The only reason this started was because Basso's agent said he was good enough for the Premiership in the first place. He won't go to a Premiership club just another Championship club or League 1 if he's lucky”

“Bassos contract runs out in June 2010, at that point, there is no obligation on either party to renew it, that is how a contract works. This situation occurs at all football clubs, and you either accept it, or pay people to do nothing. Basso did not leave us in the lurch, he had 12 Months on his existing contract, and I think that is long enough to find a replacement.
Pity it has ended this way, both for City and Basso.”

“Pops, Bristol says¿¿how many quality players will he freeze out due to his poor man management¿ Answer¿none previously (all who have left have been much less successful than when at AG) so it¿s fair to assume that it will be none in the future.
Raymond Pilkington, Marshfield says ¿And after many years of exceptionally loyal service¿
Wot!!! Three and a bit wasn¿t it??
I wasn¿t that convinced when he was here. Yes he epitomised our promotion season and the first season in the Championship and will always be remembered for that. But I will never forget that ¿rolling about in agony¿ moment against Burnley last season, when clearly their player was easily four foot away from him. The worst case off cheating I have ever seen from one of our players whilst following BCFC”

“Raymond Pilkigton glass,
l must say here that Chris makes a lot of sense in 'most' of his comments re the City,
He helps us fans that are from afar,
Stupendously put your term 'decorum'”

“Shambles.
our best keep being allowed to leave on a free, Gerken is a decent enough keeper, but Basso is better, his performances this season proved that.
Anyone who actually believe's he didn't sign the contract due to "wages" is probably stupid enough to believe last years dispute with Orr was also over wages.
Wages weren't and aren't the issue, otherwise Basso would have followed his agents advice and signed the deal,
Unfortunately the current manager is stubborn beyond belief, how many quality players will he freeze out due to his poor man management”

“Tell me Chris - did you believe that Basso "isn't that good a keeper" when our own supporters crowned him Player of the Year?
Were you at the back of the hall that evening booing, hissing and spitting your dummy out?
You call Basso's agent "slimy". What has he done to deserve that slur?
I believe it actually YOU who portrays a lack of taste, substance, and may I also add, decorum.”

“Ah, the club car park 'press conference'. It will go down in the folk lore of the club.
So many people have spoken about it and written about it on fooball message boards that there must have been an audience of several hundred at the very least.
One has to wonder how Basso was able to communicate with such a vast throng or, if it happened at all, was it not just some throwaway remark in answer to a passing fan's good wishes?
Basso was a competent keeper, no better than the current number one in my view, and had much to be garteful to City for when they hauled him out of non-league obscurity in his late twenties.
If he wants to go the club is right to let him. If his heart is not in the club there is no point in keeping him.
I will be fascinated to see where he ends up.
As a City fan I wish him no ill-will though I owe him no loyalty in the same way that he has shown none to the club or its fans.”

“Oh dear Raymond, please don't tell me you believe the "car park story", of course, clearly that was not made up by some disgruntled Johnson hater was it?
Deary me Raymond, get a grip! I clearly see you don't like Johnson, fair enough i know there is an odd element of our support who don't, but lets post stupid comments in some churlish attempt to discredit other people, because it shows a lack of taste and substance to your argument. If you have any awareness of what's happened here you will see allot of what i have posted has been said in the press, many times over the years. Of course, im assuming you have been in touch with regular ongoing's at the club and not one of these fans that attends AG once a year and claims to be a supporter!”

“The 'right circumstances' will be a gagging order - Basso has plenty to tell.”
