Bristol City fans win fight for £3 pint at Ashton Gate
Bristol City fans have won a hard-fought campaign to reduce the price of a pint on match-days at Ashton Gate.
Henceforth, fans will pay just £3 for a pint of Blackthorn cider, Carlsberg beer and Tetley bitter, starting with Saturday’s crucial npower Championship home game against Barnsley.

The special offer (down from £3.60) has been made following lobbying by fans representatives and will be available in the Dolman Exhibition Hall, Harry’s Bar and the Supporters Club and Trust.
Kevin Smith, City’s commercial director, hopes this will appeal to supporters who have long campaigned for cheaper prices at the stadium.

“We’re well aware from fans’ feedback that they’re keen to use the facilities here at Ashton Gate if the prices are reasonable,” he said.
“We’ve been working closely with our catering partner to see what can be done and hopefully we’ll see a response.
“It’s the old adage, if you reduce prices and more people buy to increase the numbers then it works for everyone, so we’re looking for your support to back this initiative.
“A lot of work has gone on to improve the Dolman Exhibition Hall, with a new Sky box to ensure the TVs are fully operational and customer service training for staff.
“If it’s a success, it’s something we’ll be very keen to continue in the long-term, so please support the initiative.”
Prices of bottled beer and lager will also be reduced in the Atyeo and Williams Stands.
Additionally, all supporters can benefit from 50% off all training wear on the day of the Barnsley at BCFC Megastore (in-store only).
Tickets for the npower Championship fixture are available at phase 1 rates right up until the day before the game. Prices start £14 for adults, £3 for under-16s.

“We all need something to drown our sorrows! Great to see the Club is engaging with and listening to fans though - doesn't happen at every club.”

“Next thing they'll be complaining that pubs get smashed up!!
Pretty soon they'll be offering drugs as well if our form doesn't pick up soon!”

“Decent gesture from the club.
Just need to train the staff in human interaction now, let alone customer service.
Also stop those bloody kids from running around in the DEH.”
