Bristol City have denied a report in a national newspaper linking Championship rivals Millwall with striker Ryan Taylor.

The Daily Mirror claimed the Lions had tabled a bid of £350,000 for the former Rotherham United target man, who turned down an offer from Millwall to move to Ashton Gate in July 2011.

But an Ashton Gate source told The Post: “There is no truth in this story at all. We have not received any bids for Ryan Taylor and this is nothing but speculation.”

“If i was Taylor i would definitely be interested. Judging by what happened to Woods, they'll turn him in to a striker that can score goals !”

“If there is a problem with our strikers a great deal of it surrounds the service the get from midfield and the flanks.

Sort that and they'll all seem a lot better.

Woods was said to be very average at City but scored regularly at Brum & Millwall prompting a big money move to Leicester. Can they ll be wrong whilst we're right?”

“Wouldn't be too upset if he followed Woolford to be honest.”
