Bristol City have issued a strong denial in response to a report linking them with a move for Newcastle United defender James Tavernier.

BBC Radio Bristol today reported the two clubs were in advanced discussions regarding an emergency loan signing forthe young right-back.

But City media officer Adam Baker scotched the rumours, saying: "There is absolutely no truth in this whatsoever. We don't know where it came from."

“We know it never came from SL he's not keen on spending money where it's needed. And I'm sure the puppets Muppets and yes men would only ever do as they were able to do up to the pay grade.

I expect all the normal loan and panic signings will appear after Christmas as seems to be club policy. No one appears able to grasp that spending on the right players prior to the season could have seen bigger crowds, TV money and perhaps a playoff run.
The excel boys can't quite grasp that fans don't want to watch rubbish in another relegation dog fight.

    A fool & his money......”

“Whilst a RB would be handy we need a RCB & MID GEN First.”
