Bristol City defender Richard Foster will be out until at least Easter
Bristol City defender Richard Foster will be out of action for longer than originally thought.
Recovering from an Achilles tendon problem, the Scot will definitely miss upcoming games against Middlesbrough and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Bristol City right-back Richard Foster's Achilles injury is worse than first feared.
And he may even struggle to be fit by the time City return to action at Derby County after this month’s two-week break for international matches.
Foster attempted to play through the injury during February, but finally had to admit defeat ahead of last Saturday’s trip to Blackpool.

He has since been on crutches and Robins head coach Sean O’Driscoll today revealed the right-back will need an injection in order to try and clear up the problem.
Centre-back Louis Carey has now fully recovered from the knee injury that laid him low last month and is available for selection for Saturday’s home game against Middlesbrough.
That leaves striker Ryan Taylor as the only other absentee. Recovering from a fractured collar-bone, the Yorkshireman is expected to be back in training within the next week to 10 days.

“I'm not aware of anyone criticising Kelly, he is being a chance to prove himself, before judgement is made.
Just because he was signed by McClueless and came from the Scottish league, doesn't make him a bad player/signing!”

“Frankclack
I completly agree regarding Kelly. For a start everyone takes time to settle into a new job, especially if it involves moving to a strange area. He ahs worked tirelessly when ive seen him and thought he was probably one of our best players on Tuesday againt Brighton. He was everywhere and apart from one dodgy header back towards our goal did some excellent work. he is starting to break forward with decent runs into the box too. If he was playing in a mid table side with more freedom im sure his attacking instincts would be even greater and maybe would have a goal by now.
The critics dont know what he has been told by SOD in terms of his role in each game and after all SOD is the only one he needs to impress, and he seems to be doing that. Given his age he can only get better.”

“I don't think that Foster has had a fair crack of the whip at AG. He always gives of his best and he has been shuffled around in all sorts of positions to suit the requirements of the team. There are at least four other regular members of the squad that I would prefer to see the back of before Foster.
The problem is that he was born north of the border and is associated with D Mc.
A similar lack of warmth has been shown to Liam Kelly, who at 23 years of age has been pitchforked into the team having been signed by a manager who was sacked two days after he arrived. In my opinion he has shown great character since he came to the club, but has yet to be fully accepted.
Football supporters can be hard taskmasters at times.”

“Fontaine has been playing out of positon with the added responsibility of captaining the side, this has been addressed and he is playing better.
Nyatanga is in the last chance saloon with his contract up, at the end of the season, which is enough encouragement to play well.
Can't imagine, Fontaine, Nyatanga or Foster will be around next season, particularly, if we end up in Div 1!”

“@Red_Emerson:
A few weeks back we were saying that about Fontaine, Elliott & Nyatanga and with a squad of only 22 senior pros, we don't need injuries.
I prefer Moloney, but I've seen worse players at AG than Foster, providing he plays right back, not out of position at left back.”

“Take your time Foster, no point rushing back if you're not ready...”

“Foster being out for longer is good news for City's relegation battle, he is a liability and the sooner he is gone, the better.”
