Bristol City bring in blowers to try and save cup clash
Bristol City have installed industrial hot-air blowers on the Ashton Gate pitch in a bid to save Tuesday's FA Cup third round tie against Cardiff.
Groundsman Craig Richardson and his staff laid protective covers on the playing surface several days ago and these have since been covered by snow.

City press officer Adam Baker explained: "The heaters will be positioned beneath the covers and will thaw the playing surface, which is currently frozen."
Although City remain confident the pitch will be playable, further snow is forecast in the Bristol area during the next few days and temperatures are not expected to rise much above zero.
Should the tie be postponed for a second time, it is likely to be re-scheduled for Tuesday, January 19.

“Why in a world worried about Climate Change, and in a week when the Government is concerned about the supply of gas, is it OK to heat up a football pitch? Why not provide heater for shelters for the homeless?”

“Why bother with industrial hot-air blowers when their's Gary Johnson, put him under the covers for a couple of days, he blows enough hot air.”
