Bristol City have added Wycombe Wanderers to their list of pre-season friendlies.

Ties between the two sides have been strengthened this season with the loan of Bristol City striker John Akinde.

The 19-year-old, signed for £140,000 from Ebbsfleet United last September, scored seven goals in 11 appearances for Wanderers who won promotion to League One with their third-place League Two finish.

"It is the right game for us to play seven days before the start of what will be a very competitive season," said City manager Gary Johnson on the club website.

"We wanted a typically English-type game which was competitive but would also allow us to work on our shape."

Wanderers feature two former Ashton Gate players in the form of Tommy Doherty and Craig Woodman.

City's pre-season line-up to date:

Hereford United (A) - July 13

Cheltenham Town (A) - July 18

Wolves (H) - July 25

Yeovil Town (A) - July 28

Wycombe Wanderers (H) - August 1
