Bristol City: Fan's view with Matthew Withers
I'M so frustrated by what's going on at Ashton Gate at the moment. Since the end of last season, Derek McInnes, the owner, chairman and directors have known that we need a commanding centre-half and yet we have entered October still without one and in my mind as a direct result we are losing games.
I agree with Derek McInnes that we win as a team and we lose as a team and that everyone has to take their responsibility, but you cannot get away from the fact that at the moment Liam Fontaine is struggling for form and in need of a break.
Our other options Lewin Nyatanga and James Wilson are just not up to the standard required at the top of the Championship. It may seem harsh, but it's the truth, Louis Carey is at the moment our best defender, and to be fair to Louis, even he would not expect to be playing week in and week out.
The game against Millwall on Tuesday night was there for the taking. Millwall were poor and yet we struggled to break them down and in the end were lucky to hold on for the point. Our defending for the Millwall equaliser was a joke.

The shame is that we have had a really good start and beat Cardiff City and Crystal Palace scoring four goals against both and now those two teams sit in the top four of the table. We haven't pushed on and that's my fear. We are accepting poor performances and not taking games by the scruff of the neck and imposing ourselves.
I think McInnes is a great manager, but I was disappointed in his team selection on Saturday. We chose to pick a team to match Leicester City and not a team that could go out and win the game playing our own brand of football.
We now have an international break and McInnes and the board should be doing all that they can to get in a commanding centre-half who talks and dominates that first ball.
I talked last week about the midfield and in particular centre midfield. We still don't have anyone who shows for the football, taking the responsibility to drive the team forward. I would be looking at the options available in the under-21's and academy. Bobby Reid is old enough and has that touch of arrogance and self belief and there must be others.
I hate being negative about my football club, but I have to call things as I see them and at the moment the central midfield and central defensive partnerships are not working and have to be changed. The players are making mistakes week in and week out and need to be taken out of the firing line and be given a chance to get their confidence back, but that will only happen if we can bring the two or three players in that we all know are needed.
If we don't we are looking at another long, hard season which we just shouldn't be.
