Bristol City Football Club's charity arm has joined forces with LinkAge to produce a slower version of football – where anyone caught running concedes a free kick to the opposition.
Featured on BBC Breakfast recently, walking football is coming to Ashton Gate with weekly sessions running from Tuesday, January 8th at 11am in the Community Park.
Community Trust development officer Vicky Barlow said: "We are always looking for new and innovative ways to engage with every element of the local community.
"We work with 50,000 young people every year but we want to be inclusive and we shouldn't forget the older generation, especially amongst our very loyal fanbase.
"This project has already been well received by our Senior Reds and we are very keen to open this up to over-55s across the region. I'm excited about the impact this project can make and I cannot wait to get started."
