Bristol Cathedral Choir School to host Year 6 open evening
Bristol Cathedral Choir School still has some sixth form places available for September.
The school, which is now a state-funded academy, is holding an open evening on Thursday, March 26, for anyone interested in signing up. The closing date for applications is April 30.
Principal Neil Blundell said: "I am looking forward to explaining more about the reasons for the school's success to parents and potential students at our open evening. We offer a great sixth form experience for boys and girls, with a curriculum that includes traditional academic A-level subjects alongside popular modern courses such as sports studies, psychology, music technology and film studies."
He pointed out that although BCCS specialises in music, it is not necessary to be good at music to secure a sixth form place.
He said: "Interestingly, under our admissions policy, the younger brothers and sisters of our sixth-formers are guaranteed a place in Year 7, which might be an additional attraction to some families considering a change of school at the end of Year 11.
The school opened a new five-storey building in College Square last term and it has recently announced a further £11.7-million development plan.
