Bristol & Suburban League: The torrential rain of Friday night meant an almost total washout of the league programme with only eight games beating the storms.

All the games in Premier Division I and Premier Division II were called off.

Three teams are on 21 points at the top of Division I – Lawrence Weston, who were without a game, Bristol Athletic and Ashton Old Boys.

Bristol Athletic defeated Ashton 1-0 at the weekend.

Ashton Rangers moved four places off the bottom of Division I after beating Totterdown POB 2-1 after a tense affair. Lou Mastouras and Aidie Cogshill were the Rangers marksmen.

Newcomers Bristol County are the new leaders of Division IV and they share with Lockleaze Reserves, also from Division IV, the only 100 per cent record in all seven divisions.

Bristol County are level on points with Lockleaze but have a far better goal difference following a 7-3 win over Coupland Insulation.

Matthew Steele scored a hat trick, and there was a goal apiece from Richard Harding, Shane Budding, Jamie Ellis and Scott Bowler.

Almondsbury A are second in Division II after a 2-1 home victory over fourth-placed Keynsham Town A.

Stoke Gifford United Reserves are putting their poor early-season form behind them and they made it three wins in succession with a 3-1 victory over Old Cothamians Reserves.

Ingleside, who started the season with six successive victories before losing to Mangotsfield United A last week, bounced back to beat Division III leaders Eagle House Elite 5-1 in a game moved from the Netham to Eastville Park. Ingleside are a point behind the leaders with a game in hand. Jonathan Poole bagged a brace for Ingleside and Sam Rendall, Luke James and Daniel Clark scored a goal apiece.

Third-placed Ashton United Reserves missed a chance of closing the gap on the leaders after losing 5-0 at home to Old Georgians Reserves, their third game in a row without a win.

In contrast, Old Georgians have won three games in a row.

First-team manager Chris Giles scored a hat-trick for Winford PH Reserves, who took their unbeaten run to five games after travelling to Emersons Green and returning with a 5-2 victory. Ross Miller and Jason Base also netted for Winford.
