Bristol Academy girls bid for Super League spot
Bristol Academy WFC are bidding to become one of eight leading women's football clubs in the new FA Women's Summer League, starting in March 2010.
The 'Super League' will see the transformation from the sport being a restricted seasonal winter affair to a new summer league from March until Ocotber.
The Bristol Academy WFC are the south west's leading women's team and are well placed to meet the standards needed to enter the new league. The clubs in the Super League will be awarded a two-year license for the 2010 and 2011 seasons.
The new league format has been designed to be attractive for the media and interest in broadcasting the Super League has been expressed by the FA broadcasting partners, ITV and Setanta.
