Bristol Academy are fast gaining a reputation as the draw specialists of the FA Women's Premier League – but boss Gary Green admits he would be delighted with another point this weekend.

All-conquering Arsenal visit Oaklands Park, Almondsbury on Sunday (2pm) with Green already describing the Londoners, who have yet to drop a point this season, as "champions elect".

The Gas Girls' coach knows few people will give his side a prayer of getting anything from the game and admitted: "If we play to our best and they play to theirs, they will probably thump us.

"All you can do is hope they have an off day – really it's just about enjoying the experience of playing them."

The Academy made it six draws from 12 National Division outings so far this term when Blackburn Rovers fought back from 2-0 down to take a point in Lancashire last weekend.

Shelley Cox and Emma Plewa – who marked her first senior start with a goal – put the visitors 2-0 up inside 17 minutes, but Katie Anderton's double gained a point for the home side.

"We battered them in the first half and could have had five or six – but then they did the same to us in the second half," said Green. "Our goalkeeper Rachel Simkin made some tremendous saves.

"We were missing five regulars, but hopefully we might have some of them back for this Sunday."

Keynsham Town's spell of inactivity in the Southern Division continued when their game against Crystal Palace was called off.

They will be hoping to get the all- clear at Truro City this weekend.

Meanwhile, Keynsham have been drawn away to Cardiff City in the third round of the FA Women's Cup on December 14.

Forest Green Rovers – who overcame Cheltenham Town 2-0 thanks to goals from Helen Wood and Angie McQuillan – will visit Plymouth Argyle, who demolished Team Bath 6-0.

Vic Vedart scored Bristol Ladies Union's consolation goal in their 5-1 defeat by Gloucester City in the South West Women's League Premier Division, while Stoke Lane Athletic cruised into the second round of the Pat Sowden Trophy with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Division One (North) leaders Chippenham Town.

Front pair Michelle Purse and Jade Daly scored a goal apiece to put Athletic 2-0 up inside 15 minutes and it remained that way at half-time despite a significant Chippenham onslaught.

Leanne Jones added a third for the home side in the second half before Town finally converted one of their many chances with 20 minutes remaining.

However, Stoke Lane finished the game in style as Purse and substitute Lucy Sparks both scored with shots from outside the box.

Downend Flyers were 2-0 up in their tie against Keynsham Town Development, but needed extra time to complete a 3-2 victory.

Katie Michael scored twice – including the winner – with Debbie Stacey also on target.

Gloucestershire County League Division One leaders Cleeve West Town maintained their 100 per cent record with a 4-0 win over Tetbury Town thanks to goals from Alice Cook, Tash Hale, Charlie Grimes and Nicky Hoare.

"It could have been more – we hit the bar three or four times," said boss Lou Hemmingsley.

AEK Boco had a convincing 6-1 win at Longlevens in the preliminary round of the League Cup.

Sasha Ferris and Lorna Miller both scored twice with Paige McWorthy and Emma Smith also on target.
