Brislington Reserves secure dramatic last-gasp win
Brislington Reserves scored in the last minute to snatch a 4-3 Errea Somerset County League Premier Division victory at Timsbury Athletic.
The win keeps them in second spot, four points behind leaders Cheddar, who were 3-1 winners over Paulton Rovers Reserves.
Lee Perks and Matt Arnold had Brislington 1-0 and 2-1 up, but Timsbury responded to lead 3-2.
Veteran Jeff Hazel crashed a superb 40-yard drive for his first goal in nine years to make it 3-3 before Lee Scadding struck a last-minute winner.
Cutters Friday enjoyed a 2-0 win over Bridgwater Town Reserves.
Harley Purnell gave Cutters a 29th-minute lead before Ryan Bending clinched victory in the 75th minute with a far-post header.
Mangotsfield United's young reserve side, who lost a few players called up for the first team because of injuries, went down 2-0 at Castle Cary, while Backwell United lost 1-0 at Watchet Town.
In Division One, the game between Clevedon United Reserves and Fry Club was abandoned after half an hour due to the referee aggravating a knee injury.
Table-topping Stockwood Green were 5-1 winners in their local derby against Keynsham Town Reserves at the Crown Field. Ben Cook (2), Jason Smith (2) and former Keynsham man Chris Saunders scored, while Stockwood goalkeeper Ricky Lebiedz saved a penalty.
