AFC Hayes 1 Bridgwater Town 4: Bridgwater Town won this preliminary-round tie in the FA Trophy with ease – but at a price.

Matt Pitcher limped out of the game with a hamstring injury, while Ben Kirk, who netted two of the goals, suffered concussion towards the end.

Neither look like being fit to face Bath City in the Somerset Premier Cup at Fairfax Park tomorrow.

Bridgwater netted all their goals in the first half with what joint-manager Leigh Robinson described as a "workmanlike display". He added: "The tie was virtually all over by half-time."

Marcus Duharty and Graham Merceica put Bridgwater 2-0 up before Craig Tomkins pulled a goal back from the penalty spot.

Kirk then got in on the act, netting two goals late in the first half.
