BEACONSFIELD 1 BRIDGWATER TOWN 0

BRIDGWATER have to accept they will not reach the play-offs in Division One South and West of the BGB Southern League following this latest defeat at Beaconsfield.

This was Bridgwater's fourth match in eight days and they needed all three points to kick-start their climb the table.

Although they have games in hand on all the teams above them, they are still in 14th place and are well off the pace.

There was not a lot to choose between the sides with Beaconsfield grabbing the only goal of the game through Oliver Goodwin, who volleyed home in the 70th minute.

Bridgwater were always in the match but could not break down Beaconsfield's well-drilled defence even when they brought on second-half substitutes Ben Kirk and Chris Young.
