Bridgwater Town 2 Thatcham Town 1: Bridgwater had to survive an uncomfortable final 10 minutes but held on for victory.

Jamie Laird scored an own goal to put Thatcham back in the game after Bridgwater had dominated the early exchanges.

Ben Kirk headed them in front in the sixth minute and Marcus Duharty made it 2-0 in the 65th minute.

Bridgwater will be looking to build on their encouraging start when they play away to Mangotsfield United tomorrow.
