Taunton Town 1 Bridgwater Town 2: Bridgwater continued their charge towards the play-offs in Division One South and West of the BGB Southern League – with a little help from their neighbours.

Taunton were leading 1-0 when they had centre back Owen Irish, one of three brothers in their side, sent off for two yellow cards in the 79th minute.

Bridgwater took full advantage as Bradley Middleton glanced home a header the resulting free-kick.

And just when 10-man Taunton appeared set for a point, up popped first-half substitute Mitch O'Donnell to head the winner from a cross by Nat Pepperell three minutes into injury time.

Taunton, just hovering above the relegation zone, took the lead in the 70th minute through the lively Danny Lane, who fired his shot past Tom Manley.

But they could not hang on and Irish's dismissal means Taunton have collected 14 red cards this season.

Meanwhile, Bridgwater have boosted their squad with the signing of former Norwich City winger Robert Lawrence.
