Brian Howard plays 90 minutes as Bristol City Under-21s lose 3-0 to Charlton at Ashton Gate
New Bristol City Brian Howard gained valuable match fitness in tonight’s FA Under-21 Professional Development League clash against Charlton Athletic at Ashton Gate.
In need of games after signing on as a free agent earlier this month, the former Barnsley and Sheffield United midfielder played the entire 90 minutes as one of three permitted over-age players.

Bristol City's Brian Howard proved his fitness ahead of Saturday's npower Championship clash at Blackpool.
Although the 30-year-old play-maker was unable to prevent the Robins going down to a 3-0 defeat, he came through unscathed to further press his claims for a first Championship start for City at Blackpool on Saturday.
But it was not such a good night for centre-back James Wilson, who brought down Addicks substitute Joe Pigott to concede a penalty late in the second half.

Pigott got back to his feet to net his second goal and Charlton’s third from the spot to complete a night to forget for Alex Russell’s young side, who have now suffered three defeats in succession.
Jordan Cook fired the Londoners in front with a curling shot from the edge of the 18 yard box in the 28th minute.
Pigott extended the lead with a speculative drive from 30 yards that caught City keeper Lewis Carey napping before adding a second in the closing moments.
Bristol City: Carey; Jones, J.Wilson, Batten (Mitchell 70), King; Burns (Dobie 79), Reid, Howard, Bryan, Ajala; Krans. Subs (not used): Perndreu, Abbott, John, Dobie, Mitchell.

“Saw the game and Joe Bryan should be in the midfield pecking order, particularly left side in front of Howard & Kilkenny.
Dobie looks a player as well.”
