On-loan Colchester United midfielder John-Joe O'Toole extends Bristol Rovers stay
On-loan Colchester United midfielder John-Joe O'Toole has this afternoon agreed a deal to extend his stay at Bristol Rovers for a further two months.
O'Toole, who has been an instant hit with Rovers' supporters following a number of all-action displays after arriving at the turn of the year, has decided to remain at the Memorial Stadium until April 2. O'Toole will be available to play in 15 of Rovers' 19 remaining league games and is a further boost for manager John Ward in the continuing battle to beat the drop. Colchester, however, retain the opportunity of a 24-hour recall clause.

Ward said: "It is great news that John-Joe is here to stay, it is what everyone at the club wanted and the other players are all very happy.
"There is a 24-hour recall clause, but that was something that Colchester United wanted, and I fully understand that.

“Thats the sort of news we want to hear. Pity its only two months though. With the sort of commitment JJ shows he is always going to be a favourite here.
Hope that JW can tempt him to stay permanently.
Huge congrats to John Ward in turning our fortunes around. For the first time this season I have the belief that we can stay in the league”

“Iantino82er Really ! Do moderate your language ! I fear you show why some regard football supporters as morons. Remember I have supported the Rovers before you - or maybe even your parents !!- were born ! Now be a good chap, buckle down and say you are sorry.

“The type of player we've needed for years, has the heart, desire and battling qualities of Stuart Campbell BUT has the physical stature and height to go with it. Whether we can secure him on a permanent deal or not at the end of the season it is clear to everyone that this is the type of player we need and I have faith in JW to land that in the close season.”
