Brave passers-by raise alarm over Bristol fire
Passers-by climbed into a burning Bristol flat to search for people inside after raising the alarm.
Fire crews were called to the address, in Filton Avenue, Horfield, but before they got there two passers-by took matters into their own hands.

Fearing that there might be people trapped inside, 29-year-old Shaun Phillips and another unknown man climbed up drainpipes to reach the flat, above Blythswood Care office.
Father-of-two Mr Phillips had just arrived at work – his painting and decorating company is currently redecorating the Fellowship pub nearby.
He said: "I just pulled up and saw all the smoke coming out of the window. I thought there might be someone inside, so I climbed up there. Our ladders were locked in the pub so I had to go up the drainpipe. We were banging on the windows to alert people. Then I climbed into the room on fire to check if anyone was there.
"I couldn't see anyone, so I got out as quick as I could, it was really hot and smoky and the flames were getting hold of the room.
"I didn't really think about it, it just seemed like the right thing to do. I'd like to think if me or my two little girls were ever trapped in a burning house, someone would do the same."
Mr Phillips was still suffering with a cough the day after the incident due to inhaling some of the smoke.
The occupier of the room on fire was not there at the time, and because they had closed their bedroom door the fire did not spread to the rest of the flat. The other three people in the flat were alerted by the smoke alarm and got out safely.
It is thought that the fire started with a cigarette butt.
Louise Lever, spokeswoman for Avon Fire and Rescue Service, said: "Any fire can have potentially devastating consequences and we are pleased that in this incident no one was injured and that the smoke alarm in the property did its job and enabled the occupants to escape safely.
"These men were clearly brave in putting their concern for others above that of their own personal safety. However, we would never encourage members of the public to risk their own lives by entering a building on fire as our crews are highly trained and equipped to respond to any emergency."
None of the four residents was available for comment.
