MOTOCROSS: Crewkerne trials star Ben Bramwell has his eye on the Wessex Centre title.

Bramwell finished second to reigning champion Colin Crease in the 2009 series, and he clashes with the Frome clubman in the Wilts Border club's Border Cup event in woodland at Draycot, near Sutton Benger, on Sunday.

Other top-line aces competing in the multi-lap event include Adam Colburn, Adam Norris, Lee Hassall and Craig and Mark Talbot.

The second round of the South West Centre series takes place at Combe Raleigh, near Honiton, the same day.

By midweek, 95 riders had entered the Otter Vale club's long-established Stuart Cup event at Hill Farm, including reigning champion Rick Wiggins and first-round winner Joe Baker.

The Cornwall Centre's top three – Jason Lawer and Ross and Keelan Hancock – are also there, along with Stephen Martin, Kevin Bushin and Rob and George Pollard.

Jon Tuck and Matt Sparks, three-times winners of the British Sidecar trials title, are already on their way to the Isle of Man, where they compete in the first round of the 2010 series at Peveril tomorrow.

In past years, several West Country crews have also taken part in the annual event, but, on this occasion, Tuck and Sparks will only be accompanied by Dave Tuck and Steve Chandler.

The Zona One Club in Gloucestershire are staging this year's Southern experts trial and they may be including several sections planned for that event in Sunday's meeting at Birdlip.
