A boat used by the police and the trailer it was being carried on overturned on the M5 near Portbury, causing long tailbacks.

Fuel from the vehicle leaked out onto a grass verge in the incident, which happened near the junction 19 turn-off at 1.40pm on Sunday.

One lane of the M5 was coned off while firefighters cleared up the spilled fuel.
