NEW Blackpool boss Paul Ince hopes to sign a striker on loan ahead of tomorrow's npower Championship showdown with Bristol City.

Since taking charge at Bloomfield Road last month, the former Liverpool and England star has made bolstering his strikeforce a priority.

Pool's coaching staff have taken in a number of games this week, including Burnley's home defeat to Huddersfield, Leicester's win over Blackburn and Fleetwood's home clash against Cheltenham.

Ince has also spent time on the phone to Premier League bosses to see who might be available for a temporary stint at Bloomfield Road.

Ince has wasted no time in making his mark off the field, introducing afternoon fitness sessions to improve the condition of his players as well as regular team visits to Rowley's restaurant at Bloomfield Road in a bid to foster team spirit.

"It's about doing things right," said Ince.

"We are putting things in place to improve the way our players do things, even eating together will make a difference.

"It is important the lads spend time together and build-up the team spirit which might have been damaged in recent weeks."

Having presided over a 2-0 defeat at Leeds and a goalless draw at home to Leicester since taking charge, the new manager has still to check a slump in results that has left Blackpool looking nervously over their shoulders.

A return of one win in six home games is in large part attributable to the poor state of the Bloomfield Road pitch and has served to undermine confidence in a side which is still looking to impress the new boss.
