Black's Bitton take over at the summit
ANDY Black's Bitton took over top spot in the Premier Division of the Toolstation League as they beat Ilfracombe Town 2-0, while previous leaders Dawlish lost 2-0 to Black's brother John's Bristol Manor Farm side.
Bitton lead on goal difference and have two games in hand on Dawlish. Manor Farm are now third, also with two games in hand.
Bitton took a fifth-minute lead against Ilfracombe when Matt Tiley's corner from the right was headed clear to the lurking Michael Meaker, who made no mistake from 10 yards with a well-struck volley.
The victory was not secured until 10 minutes from the end, when central defender Steve Jones forced the ball over the line after Pat Mattison's header was blocked.
Manor Farm saw off Dawlish with a first-half goal from Scott Feltham and a second-half strike from Ben Hiscox.
Brislington's game at home to Sherborne Town was abandoned after 65 minutes with the hosts lead ing 2-0. A Sherborne player had broken his leg, and a 25-minute wait for an ambulance led the referee to call the game off because the pitch had deteriorated, a decision which angered Brislington manager Jeff Meacham.
He said: "As far as we were concerned there was nothing wrong with the pitch and it was certainly not in a dangerous condition."
Todd Winters put Brislington ahead and Christian Miller added their second from the penalty spot.
Hallen lost 1-0 at Devizes Town. The only goal came in the eighth minute, when Paul Owen turned a cross into his own net.
Hallen were awarded a penalty in the 37th minute, but Andy Cook's spot-kick was saved, and the visitors had Richard Nelmes was sent off 15 minutes from full-time for allegedly swearing at an official.
Cadbury Heath got back to winning ways in Division One, seeing off hosts Oldland Abbotonians 4-1.
Heath, who lost 5-1 at Larkhall Athletic in midweek, fell behind to a Wayne Pearce goal against Oldland before goals from Luke Westwood, Tim Summers, Sacha Tong and Keith Williams secured a victory which took them to the top of the table, ahead of Larkhall on goal difference.
Larkhall, who have three games in hand, beat Bridport 5-0. Longwell Green Sports crashed to a shock 3-1 home defeat against Wells City. Billy Manning put the visitors ahead but Mark Summers levelled from the penalty spot after his brother Andy had been brought down. Wells went back ahead through Kieron White, and Levi Marlow wrapped up victory late on.
Third-placed Portishead were 3-1 winners at Shepton Mallet. James Clarke put Portishead in front but Ben Lacey levelled before Clarke struck again and Ollie Hatfield secured the points. Both sides finished with 10 men afterAshley Francis of Shepton Mallett and Portishead's Nick Sloan were sent off.
Keynsham went on a goal spree in beating visiting Elmore 5-2. Ross McNab scored a first-half hat-trick and Scott Brain and Chris Durbin were also on target.
Roman Glass St George beat Minehead 2-1 with Chris Astley and Andy Morris scoring either side of an Aaron Deakes penalty, while Hengrove Athletic drew 1-1 at Almondsbury, with Ben Crew's goal for the visitors cancelled out by Adam Grinter.
