Bitton manager Andy Black is in the process of rebuilding his side for next season after losing five of the players that won the Toolstation Premier Division title last season.

Defenders Tom Warren and John McAlinden, along with last season's leading scorer Mark Reynolds have all joined Southern League Yate Town, while Rob Scott and Matt Knapman have rejoined Mangotsfield United.

Fortunately for Black, he will still have experienced ex-Bristol Rovers man Michael Meaker as his player coach and he is also hoping to sign former Mangotsfield and Yate midfielder Adams Sims.

Black said: "I am talking to a number of players in a bid to strengthen the squad, but if Adam gets himself fully fit he will give us a major boost.

"Michael Meaker is still a very good player – he showed it the other weekend when being named player of the tournament for Queens Park Rangers when they won the London Masters."

Black has arranged three friendlies – at home to Mangotsfield on Friday, July 24, away to Cadbury Heath on Thursday, July 30 and then at home to Oldland on Friday, July 31.
