Bitton sweep into second round
Gloucestershire Cup: Bitton sailed into the second round of the Gloucestershire Under-12 Cup with a 7-0 win over Bradley Stoke Youth.
Defender Matt Brown opened the scoring before a brace from Danny Sheldon, and singles by Luke Saward, Jordan Cribb, Christian Box and Callum Wright, completed the rout.
Warmley Rangers had few problems against Cheltenham-based St Mark's Dragons in the same competition, winning 4-0.
Ross Lapham opened the scoring on eight minutes with a fine strike from the left before debutant Daniel Crouch and Fraser Venables added two more goals, the latter with a splendid 25-yard chip.
The tie was over as a contest when Harvey Boyce headed in a fourth after six minutes of the second half.
First-half doubles from Bradley Wheadon and Josh Kellett-Butt, and an Alex Whale strike, were just enough to see AEK Boco to a dramatic 5-4 victory over a Hucclecote side who had surged into a two-goal lead.
Hucclecote played some great football to reduce the arrears to 5-4 in the second half, and it took sturdy defending from Keaton Lacey, Jack Madge, Luke Withey and Ben Stephenson to ensure Boco held on.
Goalkeeper Ben Slade was the hero as Winterbourne United beat Gotherington Juniors on penalties.
The game ended 2-2, with United coming from behind twice through Ashley Wilson and Tom Curnock to level, before successful penalties from Ross Sharpe, Ben Cole and Curnock, and three tremendous Slade saves, saw United through.
Despite some resolute defending, Bradley Stoke Youth crashed 10-1 to Bristol Rovers SJC in the Under-16 Cup.
Billy Bond opened Rovers account on 10 minutes and a terrific strike from Nathan Shipp extended their lead. This was followed up by a powerful low drive from Jake Jackson, before Ben Cush popped up with a tap in to take it to 4-0.
George Pinch pulled one back for Stoke, but Bond made it 5-1 before Levi Leopard, Joe Durrant, who rose well to head home Ben White's corner, Tom Shopland, Devaughn Martinwith and an own goal completed Rovers' tally.
